Might Want to Grab Your Highlighter

When I was reading Chapter 5 in my PR textbook, I highlighted some key points that I decided to share with all of you.

  • If you want to be sure that your news release has a good shot at being published, then you need to make sure your release is news worthy, well written, and timely.
  • One tip they suggest in writing a news release, is to make sure you take a local angle to the release.
  • Your release must contain a lead paragraph, which should the basic story in five lines or less.
  • When writing, you used always refer to the Associated Press style.

Those were just a few of the facts that I highlighted.  If your interested in more information just read the chapter for yourself!
