To Sum it Up

After reading chapter 2 in my PR textbook, I figured I would share a few quick notes to sum up some of the main points.

1.  There are four elements to the basic communication model.  They are known as sender, message, channel, and receiver.

2.  There are two types of audiences.  There are passive audiences and active audiences, and it is crucial for the communicator to plan their message according to their audience.

3.  PR writers should aim to persuade and motivate their audiences.

4.  It is never a good idea to advocate something you do not believe in yourself.

In my opinion, those are some of the most important points in Chapter 2.  If you want to read about those points in further detail, you should check out the textbook for more information.
